how long does rolling usually take?

i'm about to send in my app for one of my safeties, and i'm wondering when i'll get a decision. they have a rolling policy--marymount university. it's in arlington, anyone heard of it? anyhoo, is there like an average amount of time for rolling answers?

It all depends on the school and your stats. I got an admission decision from Mizzou no more than a week after they received my application...and only a day after they received my transcript. The same thing happened for UIUC...I was accepted less than two weeks after they received my application, and only a day after they received my transcript.

However, I know some people who have not heard heard from UIUC and applied back in November. Like I said, it just depends on your stats and how difficult the school is to get into. I don't know anything about you or Marymount, but I would expect to hear from them no more than 6-8 weeks after they have received all your materials.

Good luck! :)

ok thanks--hope i'll hear from them soon! (i'm very confident--it's my absolute safety.) congrats on your acceptances.

The waiting period at many rolling admissions schools seems to get longer the later in the admissions season you apply. Those who apply in say early October may hear back in two or three weeks, but those that apply in December or January may have to wait six weeks or more to hear simply because the school has more applications to process. The length of the wait, however, does not usually have anything to do with whether you'll be accepted or not.
