How long for EA decision?

I got my letter today too, best Christmas present ever! I’m out of state and have okay grades/SAT scores (3.57/1930), so I don’t think just amazingly smart in state people got them.

2200 SAT (710M, 770W, 720R), 750 Chem, 780 Math II, 5s on AP Chem, English and Comp Sci AB, 4 on APUSH, 93 UW average in rigorous AP and college classes.

No letter. Bunch of people in my town got them today.

Christmas is a humbug.

So, are people thinking that if you are EA and haven’t heard yet, that you are most likely getting bad news?

Where are people getting these ideas? Letters on EA have just started coming out in the last day or two. People get EA acceptance letters on the last day of notifications all the time.

woo SOM! I am also in-state but I live in the city. I’m guessing the majority of letters will coem out within the next few days and then the rest near the end with a few scattered throughout. With most full application deadlines Dec1st I assume its better to get some letters out before you ahve to send them all out near the end.

Im out of state in Jersey and no letter.

It seems a little dumb, but is it true that if you didn’t receive an EA acceptance letter Friday, it most likely will be a rejection?

Then again Im not the BEST applicant, but Bing is my #1 choice so im a little nervous…

DD received the green envelope on Dec.24th. We live in California.

i live in upstate NY and a couple of kids at my school have received the letter, but there are some like me that still havent heard…but the kids who did get the letter had similar stats to mine (3.8 UW / 2050 SAT) so im not sure what to make of it…

we live on Long Island and know at least 1 kid from my high school already accepted. Any rejection letters get received?

^ They send out acceptance letters only, according to the site. Rejections/Deferrals are by email. Well I emailed them a while ago and they said that I will receive a decision by mail on Jan3… so I’m staying optimistic

^Can you show us the source where it says they send only acceptance letters through mail? I don’t think Binghamton gives any admission information (acceptance or rejection/deferral) through E-Mail.

Apparently, there has been acceptances through email, but I have not heard of rejection/deferrals.

Really, e-mails? I just don’t get it, I heard last year Binghamton strictly sent out all admissions information through US Mail, and that’s what the website said for this year. Weird, hm.

My son got his letter last week, and it was also posted online.

My daughter received her acceptance on the 24th, and an email a few days later.

datguyaj, I don’t think anybody received a decision only through email… I got my letter around Christmas and then a congratulatory email a few days later. I’m VERY glad that they sent the letter, because the email ended up in my junk folder and I didn’t find it until a few days ago!

on the bottom

It doesn’t make a difference when you get it. They may not have sent out rejections before break, but that doesn’t mean they’re done sending out acceptance. There’s a kid in my school with a 1580/1600 SAT, 5/568 rank, and 98.8 uw gpa and he hasn’t heard yet. And he’s applying to Harpur, so don’t even tell me he’s not getting in.

^ one student from my school had those stats and was rejected because the admissions officers knew that he wasn’t going to attend. competitive hs in nyc

Bing is in his top 2 schools with Cornell, but he applied to Cornell RD. That’s not even the point. Everyone’s freaking out because they didn’t hear their decision the first three days they came out, when they shouldn’t be.
