How long is too long?

<p>Generally, if an essay is supposed to be around 500 words, what is the limit of being "around?" 30 words give or take? Less? More?</p>

<p>I've herad other people say +/- 5-10% of the word limit.</p>

<p>I'd say as long as it's not ridiculously over the limit. I think flow is a big factor in how long it should be. As long as what you've said in your essay feels necessary, I think they should be understanding. Sounds about right.</p>

<p>It should not be more than a page single spaced, 12 font.</p>
