How long once OSU gets everything do you hear a decision?

The open again tomorrow and will close again New Year's Day. Hang in there mredsox89.

Still waiting on a decision...

Come to think of it, I actually never got a letter from the University in the mail saying that they received my application...I thought that was supposed to come within 2 weeks of applying...

Good luck to everyone who is waiting on an answer -- hopefully OSU will become less overwhelmed with apps and get some responses out now that the holidays are over.

To buckeyekid, did you apply online or the paper version? If you apply online, they send you a "confirmation" email and nothing in the mail. If you applied via paper and still nothing has come, call the admissions office and ask if they can look up your file (I did this to see if they had received my supplements and the woman was really nice) -- (614) 292-3980 (I think that's the right #).

46 days and counting, still nothing :(

72 days and still waiting...(out of state, 640V, 640M, 700W, 31 ACT)...

93 days since app complete, over 110 days since app was sent. OOS (my kid's app).

Have you called the admissions department?

I second Brit07s' question. Neonzeus, mredsox and dstark especially, I would call asap, as something doesn't seem quite right for completed apps. Even though they are inundated with apps., I would think you would hear by now.

My son is OOS, completed application on 11/28/06, accepted on 12/21. Acceptance form was received yesterday and was sent back with $100 check.

Stats were v 620, m 710 and writing 600, with a 3.6 GPA, top 20% of class. Was invited to apply for scholars and we are going to Scholars Day on January 20th.

I posted the above for a reference point. I hope it helps.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I also think that a call to the admissions department is warranted--especially dstark. My D was told that it would take up to 10-12 weeks for applications to be processed--93 days well exceeds that. Good luck and I hope that you all hear soon.

ive emailed the admissions office and they keep saying that most people wait 8-10 weeks. Its just funny how almost every person i talk to found out within a month. I just wish it truly was a rolling admissions process where they recieve your application, look at it, and make a decision. Does anyone know if they have a date where we are sure to know by?

My son just got in today. It was from the admissions status link on the web site.

Hopefully everybody else will start hearing now.

Good luck.

I called and was told the app was still being evaluated. Could the major have something to do with the delay (biosciences?) Or could it be because my kid mistakenly referred to "Ohio University" in an email early in the process...

I'd like to think that they're taking so long because they're deciding whether to offer honors or scholarship money...

Yippee! At 2:00 p.m., still being evaluated. Tonight checked again, and it shows admitted!

dstark and Neonzeus: Congratulations to each of your kids! What a nice way to wind down the week.:)

mredsox: Hang in there and I hope that you hear soon.

momonthehill, thanks. Good luck to your daughter.

How do you like Columbus?

hmm so neon, do u think I should call in too? haha because it looks like they instantly made a decision after you called...well ive only been waiting a month, but I am very anxious to see if I get in or not.

dstark and Neonzeus: Congratulations!

Buckeyekid07: For what it is worth, I say to call.

Thanks Barno. Good luck to your son.

How do you like Columbus?

Based upon what I saw of it, it seemed like a nice-sized city: not so large that it's difficult to get around, yet big enough to offer a decent assortment of activities and events on the weekends. It is a city, with all the accompanying issues, however, based upon what I've read, seen and heard, it seems like the there's a reasonably good relationship between Columbus and the university(although current students could probably speak more to that).

well its now been 8 weeks, hopefully soon. All they keep telling me from the emails is 10-12 weeks.
