ive heard everything from 30 minutes to 2 hours…IF my interview was 30 minutes, will that reflect poorly on me or does it even matter how long it is…
Is the interview evaluative or informational? Some schools only offer informational interviews in which case it doesn’t matter at all how long they last, how well they go, etc…If it’s evaluative, 30 minutes doesn’t mean anything if the interviewer is busy and feels that he or she got the information they needed in that time. How did you feel the interview went? That is probably a better indication than how long it lasted.
My D did a number of interviews and they were typically 30 minutes, 45 minutes tops.
It really varies. I had some evaluative interviews with admissions representatives where they told me they would last about 20 minutes (and they did). On the other hand, one alumnus interview (I think it was described as “semi-evaluative”) lasted a bit under an hour. Agreed with @N’s Mom that it’s more about how it felt than length.
well, i requested one and they accepted it… so does that make it evaluative ? im not really sure.
I’ve had 2. One was 30 minutes, the other was an hour and a half.
Requesting an interview and getting it doesn’t make it evaluative. It depends entirely on the school and how they do their evaluations. Some schools’ web sites will tell you what kind of interviews they have - others don’t.
