<p>I'd say 115-200 would be the best, but I don't think 50 words up will kill you either. (this one is much more noticable than the reg. essay for length since it is meant to be so short</p>
<p>Since the adcoms probably like to see that applicants follow directions, I'd try to follow the directions as best as possible (150 words or less).</p>
<p>That said, I must admit, my son's went to about 225 words... it is an essay and not something finite like math...so, do the best you can within reason.</p>
<p>well if you're turning in the common app online, the admissions officer can find out instantly if you've passed the word limit.</p>

<p>evanescenteuphoria -- ive never heard this before, i dont think they really care anyways as long as its not more than 100ish over. mines 230, and it took a lot of editing to cut it down that short (so basically the thing aint gettin any shorter)</p>
<p>Hmm...I thought the limit was 250...Crap, that means I'm 99 words over (I'm at 249. I have no idea what I can trim...I'll have to work on this one!</p>
