I have enrolled in a community college out here in California. I have however found the atmosphere/experience to be quite negative. I plan to leave the US and come back during Spring.

For those of you who've gone through this before (not many I assume), how many days can I stay in the US after I withdraw from my college? I have not yet attended classes since they start early September. Will there be any problems if I try to apply for a new visa in Spring? I should also note that I do have a valid excuse for leaving (family). Any reply would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Umm you know i think you shouldnt give up!
You know there arent a lot of people who just GO BACK.. n thats because they LEARN TO ADJUST !! All international students have probs adjustin. I'm myself pretty much a mess.. (i'm in U of Rochester , btw)
So just TRY and pull thru for atleast one semester ..because thats the maximum time one needs to get used to it here.
And trust me, theere is nothing negative unless you see it as negative.

And trust me, once you leave, it wil be VERY hard to get back into the US.

It's not the new environment that poses a problem to me. I've lived out here for quite some time in the past. I just don't like CC in general. It doesn't make sense for me to stay if I'm going to hate the college I attend.

Can you explain why it wuold be very hard to reenter the US after I leave? I do have a valid excuse.

bump...does anyone know?
