Thank you so much for the help! So if each takes about a minute or 2, starting at beck hall on Livingston and ending up at some place on Busch 10 stops later would take between 10-20 minutes, generally? And also, I believe someone told me that the B bus comes late sometimes? Does this bus route get off track often? Thanks again for all the help!

It takes about 7 minutes to get from Livingston to Busch. The actual travel time is 7 minutes, and fortunately, B buses don’t wait around too much at LCC. They also come frequently and seldom late. Each bus must run on schedule, not too early, not too late. That’s why some buses like REXL park their asses in front of LCC for 15 minutes before taking off, because they can’t arrive at the next station too early.

The B bus will last stop in Livingston in front of the Quads after LCC, and first arrive in Busch at Weblin Rec Center.

When you first come to Rutgers, take a day or two to experiment with bus routes.

B-He Bus makes the extra stop at the health center on livingston campus ^

what’s the busiest day for bus travel?

Ok so the stops are about 2 minutes each and then travel time between campuses is 7 minutes…so with 3 or 4 stops on Livingston that’s 6-8 minutes, then the 7 minutes in between, and then another 2 minutes per stop at Busch? Did I do that right? Haha and definitely will check it out once there, thanks!

two of the livi stops are really close together. The whole trip will take about 10 minutes.

They need more REXB and REXL buses. Its horrible trying to get on any of those buses between 12 and 5…

Scienceguy – I’m sorry to ask again, but I’m not quite sure I understand. The whole trip that is 10 minutes, is that from the first stop on Livingston to the first stop on Busch, including every stop on Livingston? So from beck hall to the first stop on Busch is 10 minutes, and then like 2 minutes per stop from there on Busch would be a good estimate?

Oh no problem, the buses are confusing. Its going to take you 4 minutes to get off of livi, maybe 3 minutes to get to busch and give or take 3 minutes to get to your class at Hill. This is when everything is running smoothly. This is assuming they dont stop and wait at LCC.

The only stops buses really wait at are the BCC, LCC, and ARC sometimes, thats from my experience. It takes about 45 seconds to load everyone on at each stop and you have a total of 5 stops it looks like from Beck.

Good to know! If the bus does stop and wait at LCC, how long do they usually stop for? Is it significantly longer than a regular stop?

the B does not commonly do that but the REXB’s REXL’s and even the LX’s will do it sometimes. Its usually a minute or two if they do stop. I’ve been on REXB that stopped for 10 minutes. It’s usually that long only if the bus driver has to go to the bathroom lol.

Haha ok good, so the trip shouldn’t be too long if they dont stop…thanks a ton!

It’s a quick ride. If you had a road style bike it would be quicker. I intended to ride my fixed around campus as it will be faster than waiting and less stressful.

some buses will arrive early and stay for 2-5 mins. B bus usually stays only for 2 mins or so. A and H bus at busch campus center some take 5 -7 mins. You should ask the bus driver if they are about to leave if you are in a hurry. Usually The buses in the front of the line are the ones to leave first.

For example an H bus in front of the line at BCC will go before the H bus in the middle or end. However, some bus drivers take their break at BCC and go to the bathroom or get something to drink.

The B always has this lady looking like a man/man looking like a lady always taking a smoke break at BCC. lol

Haha thanks for the help! How long would it take from either Allison Road Classrooms to Lucy Stone Hall or from Lucy Stone Hall to the Allison Road Classrooms? If I had 20 minutes to go from one to the other, could I make it?

to go to lucy stone hall, you have to get off at livingston student center go to the left, down the hill past dining hall and then left, you will see people walking towards that way.

Anyway, to get from ARC to lucy stone hall will take close to 15 mins, getting from lucy stone hall to arc will take 20 mins because B bus going from livingston to busch takes route 18 so it can enter into busch campus through university field(rec field) and to werblin(rec center).

During the first couple days, you should spend the day going to the classes so you familiarize yourself so on sept 4th, you don’t spend 20 mins asking directions.

Regular bus schedule starts sept 1st i believe so you can also take the bus from each campus so you know where to get off and on.

If you do get late a couple times, just tell the professor before the start of the class if you can leave 10-15 minutes earlier than the end of class so you can go to the next class, they understand that the buses get crowded.

Its very rude to leave a class when you are in the middle rows or in the front so they will most likely tell you to sit in the back rows so you do not disturb them or other students.

Very good advice, thank you! I am hoping that I can switch sections and won’t have to have classes 20 minutes apart on different classes, but I’m not quite sure that the sections will open.
