We submitted D14's application to Rutgers a month ago. Typically, how long does it take to hear back if all requirements are received? I emailed Rutgers this question, but they just responded with the end dates that are on the website, and we know that we will obviously hear something by then. However, we were told at the tour that you hear back pretty quickly, well before the end dates.

I sent in my application on 10/18, my application was matched up with my test scores/SRAR on 10/23, and I received a decision on 10/28. I had only applied to the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.

Some people are hearing back very quickly and others are taking awhile…it may not be what anyone wants to hear, but they really are not required to respond until the last day possible.

Good luck! Just keep in mind that the length of time spent reviewing your daughter’s application is not at all relative to her chances.

Deerstalkers, I submitted my app 10/12 and Haven’t heard back.
Do you think it has to do with stats? Do you mind me asking what your scores/gpa were?
I have 1920(superscore) and 3.3 ( one D in a core class junior year)

My son submitted his last piece of info (SAT scores) last Thursday and he was accepted to all of his schools the next day. A friend with similar or better stats has not heard back yet. So it varies.

Rualem, Congratulations for your son! He is so lucky to have heard back so soon.
Where his stats really high? usually people who hear back so quick have excellent stats.

@eagersenior21 I wouldn’t be concerned at all - don’t forget, most state universities will have you waiting several months before hearing a decision. Rutgers is one of the rare few that sometimes sends out earlier decisions. I really don’t think it has anything at all to do with stats (I’ve been hearing a lot of stories similar to rualum’s from classmates).

I had a 3.7UW and 35 ACT, but I’m also in-state, which I’m sure helped speed up the decision.

@deerstalkers Yeah, its just so hard waiting I hope I get in, its my number one choice. If i find out soon i wont have to worry about applying to a lot of other schools.
Thanks for your response though and Congratulations on your acceptance!

Still no word. We thought that if she applied as early as possible in August she would hear something by now. That’s what the admission rep said at the tour. definitely makes us feel like they don’t want her which kinda makes it go down on the list a bit. Also when she emailed to make sure there was not a glitch the responder just copied and pasted what is on the website even tho she stated she knew this very thing and was looking for a human answer. when she replied thank you but can you confirm there is no glitch or something, they just copied and pasted the same answer again! kind of disappointing.either accept her or reject her already!

I think that it’s good to apply by the early action date. I don’t think that applying super-early (for ex August or September) necessarily gets you a faster response.

I don’t think they even start looking at the apps until October. You will see widely varying acceptance dates that do not seem to be based on stats or when the person applied.

I applied on Oct. 31 but they still haven’t received my SAT Scores. So I think it’ll take me at least 3 more weeks.
I think for you it should be another 1 or 2 weeks since you applied before the EA deadline.
