How long until she hears

I'm feeling a bit frustrated at the moment. My 24 year old daughter, who graduated college in 2010 decided to go to grad school and applied in April still has no answers from the schools she applied to. She has followed up , was actually given wrong info ( one school was missing one letter of recommendation and admin told her everything was rec'd ) When she got a letter a few weeks ago , encouraging her to apply , she finally got the word that the letter was not there and she promptly overnighted a copy...originally she was told that the avg time to find out if she is accepted was between 2-4 weeks
She has applied for fall admission , and the clock is ticking in terms of securing housing and just generally making her plans

She is waiting to hear from :
Northeastern
Lesley
Simmons

I know she is frustrated as well , and part of this post is just a mother rant. All of the schools have rolling admissions

Tonite , she is supposed to be presented with a scholarship and I am feeling like she shouldn't accept it at this point since she is a student without a school

The degree she is seeking is Masters in Elementary Ed / Special ed
Her undergrad is unrelated to education , but she has been subbing in various school districts for the last two years
She does follow up , but trying not to be a pest

If she applied in April, that is well after most admissions deadlines. Graduate applications are generally due in December or January, with decisions released by April.

She will have to wait until the department faculty meet to discuss admissions. Only the department knows when that will be, so it really comes down to their timeline. Given that many professors leave for the summer… your daughter needs to simply stay in touch with the departments and let them know that the clock is ticking.

Deadlines for the programs she applied to are August , so she didn’t miss them. Technically , anyone can still apply. She really thought she would have had answers by now…

Gotta be frustrating! :/

I would have her keep pressing on the department. They really should at least tell her when to expect decisions.
