How long were your Georgetown essays?

General: 569 words
School: 236 words</p>

SFS essay: 750 I think</p>

<p>I wouldn’t make the main essay longer than 750 words or so, and I think 500 is better. They may want to know you, but they also have thousands of essays to read. Short and sweet is nearly always better.</p>

<p>Mazer I don’t think “make them longer!” really works as good generic advice for everyone.

<p>If anything I am kind of surprised at how long some of these essays are! I always focused on being punchy and concise, but obviously there is no real formula for essay length. Basically, if anyone erred on the much shorter side, like me, I definitely would not consider it a “death sentence” as far as getting accepted goes!</p>
