I'm still on step 3

Transfer or incoming freshman? I applied sometime in October of 2009 (my Senior year of high school) and heard I was on the waiting list around the end of April 2010, then got BlinnTEAM about halfway through May. So it’s anytime from now until the end of May if you’re an incoming freshman. If you’re a transfer though…I have no idea.

Incoming Freshman. And how did you do with the blinnteam? I’m considering TAMUG cause after one year your guarenteed admission

Sorry about the late reply! BlinnTEAM isn’t that bad, I just don’t like commuting to two schools haha. It’s really nice in the case that you’re not offered full admission to A&M though because you’re basically going to school there already. Plus, it’s WAY cheaper. Good luck!

What were your stats

-School: Bellaire High School in Houston/Bellaire, Texas area
-Class Rank: 247/747 (top 32%…I know it’s pretty terrible. the top 10% at my school is a 4.6 out of a 5.0 GPA)
-GPA: 3.8 out of a 5.0 (weighted; about 3.2 out of 4.0)
-ACT: 28 (32 English, 25 Math…I’m bad at Math. haha)
-SAT: Combined M + R = 1200, but I didn’t send in my SAT scores because it was just a little bit above a combined 1800 (too low in my opinion)

Course load
Freshman year: PreAP Bio, PE, PreAP World Geography, PreIB French 2, Health, Speech, PreAP Geometry, PreAP English 1

Sophomore year: Regular Chemistry, Textiles, AP World History, PreIB French 3, PE, PreAP Algebra 2, PreAP English 2, Regular Chinese 1

Junior year: PreAP Physics 1, PreIB Chinese 2, AP US History, AP/IB French 4, Regular PreCal, AP English 3, AP Computer Science, Regular Music Theory

Senior year: AP English 2, AP/IB Chinese 3, AP Government, AP Macro, AP Calculus AB, AP/IB Psychology

So basically, 11 AP classes, 10 Pre-AP classes, 4 regular classes, and random electives.

Extracurricular activities/Honors/etc
-Officer in United Way Kids’ Way
-Honorable Mention in Chinese Speech Contest in sophomore year
-3 year participant of Nation French Contest
-Active member of 4 other clubs
-Worked at Marshalls for a few months
-Volunteered at Stella Link Library, Solari Hospice Care, and various fun runs, charitable events, etc.

My current stats as a college student is completely different though. I currently have a 4.0 at A&M and a 3.6 at Blinn. I personally think college is much easier than high school…but maybe it’s because I’m a part-time Blinn student. I don’t know haha.

Anyway, feel free to ask anything else you need to know!

Im more towards the halway mark when it comes to rank but im still in the 2nd quarter. I dont know if they only see what quarter your in or what. You’ve got some great ECs im surprised you got Blinnteam

I’m pretty sure they take into account what quarter and exact ranking you’re are. And I wasn’t an auto-admit or anything, so they accept students based on space availability. You should take BlinnTEAM as a backup if offered though! But hopefully you get fully in.
