As a parent of a deferred applicant, is anyone else getting annoyed at the length of time Binghamton is taking with the deferred applicants? My son applied in October EA, was deferred in December, and is still waiting for a decision. In the meantime, he decided to apply to UB, did so in late Jan/early Feb. and received his acceptance last week. Could Bing have so many more applications than UB to justify this delay? Does Bing realize that the applicants have paid for a service, the application fee, and deserve a timely response. It is discouraging to wait so long just to receive a rejection in the end. Have also read on CC applicants who have applied way later, and already received their decisions. Are only the smartest applicants entitled to a timely response?

I also was deferred and I can completely understand how you might feel, but think of it this way...

If they thought your son was not a possible match for Binghamton, they would have rejected him right away, but clearly, they thought he might possibly be a fit here.

However, they thought there might be some more qualified students applying to Bing who may be rejected if no more room was available into the school.

Why would they admit students they have previously reviewed, who are not definite matches before giving other applicants a chance to be accepted first? If they reviewed and gave spots to all deferred students before reviewing RD applicants, some who deserved to be accepted into Bing, could have been rejected.

It's nerve-wracking and definitely annoying, I know. I've been checking my application status 2-3 times a day since March 1st and would really like to know whether I'm in or not NOW, but this is life.

I realize I may have been repetitive at times in this post, but I am extremely tired and I honestly don't care enough to edit/correct myself right now... I don't mean to be rude in saying that.

Good luck to you and your son, ddotjon.
