Ok, but that does not mean that you don’t submit your transcript. You need to carefully read the application documentation requirements. What is the school, we can show you what you need to submit.
You did not follow their guidelines. You are not a first time freshman, you can apply as a freshman because you have less than 12 credits. The college still treats you as a freshman from a credit standpoint, you have previously attended college.
Does the school ask if you have previously attended college? Does the school ask if you are a first time freshman. While they may not consider you a transfer student because you have less than 12 credits, they will also not consider you a first time freshman who is attending college for the first time straight out of high school.
Minimally the FAFSA will ask for your status you will not be able to check never attended college and first year undergraduate. You will have to check attended college before and first year undergraduate (which you would be from a credit perspective). Now if you check never attended college, you will get flagged because you are going to show up as having previously received aid.
If you have not submitted the application yet, then make sure that you submit your transcripts from your previous school. There is now a national clearinghouse and you will come up showing that you were previously in college.
