How long will it take to know IF I will achieve financial aid

You will NOT receive a financial aid award from “FAFSA”. Your financial aid award will come from the college.

So…until you have applied and been accepted …and your financial aid has been calculated…you won’t know anything except your FAFSA EFC…which will be on the SAR (student aid report) you receive once the FAFSA has been completed.

What kind of aid are you hoping to get? Federally funded? If so…you do understand that the federally funded aid you previously received WILL count in the aggregate amount for any colleges…even IF you didn’t send your transcript to school number 2.

And really…I know there are a few colleges where you can apply NOT as a transfer with less than a certain number of credits…but in the vast majority of cases…the applications ask “have you taken college courses elsewhere”, then “if yes, include transcripts of all college courses you have previously taken.

My kids had to do that for dual enrollment HS/college courses taken in high school when they applied to colleges for admission as incoming freshmen.

I’m finding it hard to believe your school doesn’t care about those requirements. Where I am…even the community colleges want that info for students applying to matriculate for a degree.
