AP classes taken:

AP Bio (3)

3 more in progress (BC, physic, econ/gov)
EC:
128 hours working as a research intern (not paid) in a lab in a hospital affiliated with USC (children's hospital of LA)
2 years international club (treasurer for one year during junior year)
Vice President of a club that just got started B**

Should I even include my involvement in those clubs on my UC apps? Or would it just end up being ultimately negative? since I was only treasurer during my junior year and just joined the other club in my senior year.

And yeah..my GPA is definitely quite poor...

Oh actually I think you'll have a fair chance since your grade is a HUGE upward trend and you've been actively involved in your school/extra curriculars as well. Don't worry too much about it; I personally think you'll be fine :)

^Yeah, those are freshman year grades, thankfully. Otherwise my weighted UC GPA would be even lower :O...

Are essays included in the UCSD point system? I will be sure to do that, thanks for your advice.

I used to be quite unmotivated, which is reflected in my grades and unfit because I played a lot of video games (spending time on my ass a lot)
(embarrassing) and then I started lifting weights, improving my overall confidence and my grades just naturally went up. So I guess this would be my essay? Or is that a little too queer/cliche?

I think you could work it to your advantage. People write crazy normal things about like muffins and bananas and they make it in prestigious colleges. It's all about how you package it :)

OF COURSE essays are included in the point system.

how do you calculate the test scores portion of the scoring?
I have a 2210 SAT I and a 800,770,770 on 3 SAT II's.
And how do you calculate your UC GPA?

UC GPA is a piece of cake ... if you've already looked at the application website, that is. we're not going to do everything for you ...

haha, i understand. I've started my app and filled out my grades. Is it true that for UCSD because its admissions is point-based, that there isn't an entire point section dedicated to the essay? Does UCLA do a hollistic review of your app?
