How low are the odds?

Thanks! I actually just got the email back from admissions which said I don't need any subject tests, which is a relief.
The reason I probably won't apply for transfer again is because in HS I applied undecided to CAS and was rejected, and now I'm applying as a transfer, so yeah, technically I could apply again if I'm rejected, but I'm afraid I have too much pride for that...besides, imagine if I was rejected 3 times...lmao my self esteem couldn't handle that. It would be cornell's way of saying WE DESPISE YOU AND YOU'RE STUPID.

haha so what major are you applying for? I want to go so badly! Today the train broke down so it took me 3 hrs to commute instead of 2...and then this cab driver rolled down his window and asked me for a blowjob...and then it started hailing and I didn't have my umbrella...and seriously all I could think of is it's gonna be worth it if I can get into cornell...really don't like NYU.

I'm applying as a HBHS (Human Biology, Health, and Society) major. It's supposedly really popular among HumEc students, so I'm worried that might affect my chances.

Yeah, commuting is awful! I commute a whopping 50 miles every day just for school. Whenever I hear about how much fun kids in the dorms are having, I get so jealous, haha. But whatever, it's saving us dough, right?

Ahh, now I understand about the 3-time rejection. That would be unbelievably crushing, no doubt. But honestly, you sound like a really cool applicant, and HumEc is all about fit anyway, so you shouldn't worry.

Ehh the truth is my parents could afford it, but they're crazy control freaks and didn't want me to leave home. Are you from NY - b/c I am and attending HumEc would save me major dough...Cornell tuition + room/board + meal plan + books + supplies/fees is STILL less than NYU tuition alone! it's cuckoo bananas

I feel like HumEc is such a good fit for me. I've been trying to find programs similar to PAM and nothing compares elsewhere. Are you pre-med?

Actually, I'm from Texas. Following the money isn't always the wisest decision. I have an excess of about 8k scholarship money coming in from my current school from this year alone, and I'm still unhappy. I should''ve chosen a school that I LIKED rather than going to a school that was close to home (for TX standards). :)

Yep, I'm premed. I feel the same way about HBHS. It's like the perfect mix of social science + natural science, which is hard to find and very alluring for me.

I'm not going to HumEc because it's cheaper, it's just an awesome bonus. Every college I was accepted to but NYU gave me a scholarship, and I ended up at NYU...my parents wouldn't consider letting me go anywhere else. Cornell's 3 hrs from my house, not bad. I can visit on long weekends/holidays. If I get accepted, that is. Big if.

Your SAT scores are good. I believe that you should follow your heart. If you feel that NYU is not for you than transfer.
