okay...so i got accepted into JHU which was my #1 choice. I am so happy and ectstatic that I just want to dance around and shout.

So here's my question...Regarding senioritis, how low of a GPA or course grades can you get until colleges (specifically JHU) rescinds their admissions offer?

I'm NOT, I REPEAT, I AM NOT going to slack off..that much.

I was just wondering.

Also, I was awarded an internship at a prestigious law firm in January and for the past two months, they have been able to give me a lot more work (I have to go in about 4 times a week, 3 of those on weekdays for a session of 5hr. miminmum) that interests me (case studies, preparing witnesses, double checking facts, blah blah)...and my grades have started to suffer.

I'm scared that JHU might rescind their offer of admission, because their acceptance letter states, "if we see a drop in your gpa..." which it now has dropped (not by much..)

Should I contact JHU and explain my situation? hmm...I don't know what to do!

In all actualitiy, my senior year has become even more hectic and more rigorous in terms of classes, my internship, as well as my ongoing violin competition season.

What I meant was, it may look like I have “slacked off” in terms of my grades, but my courseload is even tougher my second semester senior year (I’m taking 3 AP’s) and I am participating in at least a dozen violin competitions…

I sincerely enjoy performing and playing the violin as well as my role at the law firm…I definitely don’t want to cut any of those things out of my life…

Se you there! I’m SOO excited! I sent my “reply letter” confirmation thingy in today!

I love JHU’s acceptance letter packet. It’s so nice and “trendy” looking…Oh! and I also love how JHU gives you an envelope WITH the stamp on it..
;)

I would recommend calling Hopkins and asking them about- they are the ones who decide how low your grades can be- not us. I wouldn’t recommend going too low though, because 1) you don’t want to find yourself without a college to attend in the fall and 2) if you slack off sr year, you’ll get hit hard when you come to Hopkins and realize how much work you have to do.

it’s just that my GPA for third quarter is now a 3.4…it didn’t drop heavily and my counselors said that it’s fine..especially since the reason why it dropped a little was because of my AP Bio class which is, for my school, probably the toughest science course (maybe tied with Physics C)…

but yeah, i haven’t done seniorities…well maybe I got an A- in English for this quarter which I’ve never gotten in highschool, but my deans and counselors said that i was worrying over nothing.

So basically I don’t have to quit my violin season as well as the intern.
