If you've been accepted into Columbia, how much can your GPA drop? After working like crazy thoughout highschool, I am personally looking foward to a semester of fun in preperation for more hard work in college. The question I have is: how much can I let my grades drop without having the threat of Columibia rescinding my acceptance? I got A's first semester. Can I get all B's second?

Lots of threads about this last year. Don't get more than a couple C's and you'll be fine. All B's is no problem.

Columbia almost never revokes admission offers. Don't:

Get into trouble with the law

Lose credits or otherwise get into graduation trouble

Do:

Skip a few assignments in favor of sleep

Skip a few classes in favor of an extended lunch

Pranks

If you're going to slack off a bit, try to put some of your free time into the activities you care about, as opposed to (say) just smoking a lot of weed and watching a lot of movies. Go nuts with extracurricular projects, go on a big roadtrip with friends If grades come back and things are really looking dire, you can then fire off a letter to Columbia saying "yes, I screwed up, but it was because I finally had the freedom to pursue my passions. You can easily tell I can beat the high school 'game', but all else being equal i'd rather be [insert something about research, a project, a sport, a job, a book, etc]". Just think about covering your butt with a ready-made excuse.

LOL Denzera... that's gold. =)

lol, Dezera, thanks...that is exactly what I am doing. Random, fun, extracurricular assignments, and relatively little homework.
