I'm a sophomore in high school and it looks like I will be ruining my 4.0 this semester--I'm getting an 89.3% in my honors math class. I'm usually an excellent student, but because of some extended absences due to sickness on my part I missed quite a bit of work. How much will this hurt my chances of getting into a competitive school like Princeton? Will an UW gpa of 3.9 matter, especially when I'm taking every honors and AP class offered? Ugh, I'm sorry, I'm just so worried about this. Any advice would be so very much appreciated.

The poster LindsayluJH had a experience similar to yours, and she made out OK.

that sux, dude. I just finished my nine weeks and i am carrying a 4.0.. for Princeton. :D taken all honors. I am so proud of myself. My teacher told me the first day I walked into an honors life management class that it's near impossible to make a 4.0 uw all three years before college. Well, I've done it.

here are the AP courses I've taken:

AP Bio
AP English Lang.
AP Spanish Lang.
AP U.S. History
AP World History

it prolly won't matter, but you just can't be hard and say DUDE I AM RANK 1.

eh it really won't matter that much. i got a B too. i've heard that they actually like to see a B cause then they know that if u don't get straight As at Princeton, u prolly won't be flipping, since hey its not the first B of ur life. but that could just be a rumor! lol

don't stress over it too much

***... that is retarded. now im scared.

oh well, my par sat scores can make up for it.

Am I missing something or is amnesia just a pathetic loser who came into a thread with someone asking for help and said "i have a 4.0, no life, and check out all these classes i'm taking next year".

Get a life, amnesia.

jegan - you'll be totally fine. It's a great GPA even for the top ivies, and an equally impressive SAT/standardized test score will confirm that you are well qualified academically to any adcom.

Don't sweat it. I got Bs in honors math my frosh and sophomore year, but then I brought them up for my junior and senior year. I got in too. So, don't worry about it and keep up the good work next year. Best of luck!

I had a C in Bio junior year :D

chill out- you'll be just fine

princeton10: i totally agree with you.

chill out guys, some hispanic legacy basketball recruit will take amnesia's spot.

How wonderfully inappropriate, thank you.

princeton10 i totally agree with u but never wanted to say ne thing. lol

you'll be fine.

I got my first B+ this year. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Thank you all so much. It's really reassuring to know I'm not alone :)

jegan - I just re-read your post and realized you're a sophomore flipping out over a 3.9 --> offically a nut ;) :p!
