how many A/P courses should do you need to get into suny binghamton

I was just curious how many AP courses one should take if you want to get into suny binghamton. My son is a high school freshman and is not really eligible to take a/p courses till his jr year. (there is a AP history course offered in sophmore year but that is it).

He is currently taking 3 honors courses and 2 regents courses. I believe that you should only take an AP course if you can do well in it. By well I mean getting at least a 3.0 and up. You are not impressing anyone if you are pulling in c's or even a low B average. You might as well take an honors course, or a regents course and take your chances and get an A OR A B+.

That said, I was wondering if there are any Binghamton students or recent alumni that would have an idea of the minimum amount of AP courses one should strive to take? I know there is no exact figure, however, I was just curious if someone had a guideline.

Thanks

I always thoguht Suny schools werent that competitve.
2 APs if he wantss sophmore year
2/3 APs junior and senior year should do the trick
maintain a 3.7 UW and he should be in no problemo with semi-solid test scorse, ECs, recs, etc

Just what I had always thought

alot of kids in my school went to suny binghampton, you dont need a high sat score (1700ish)-- and as long as ur not all regular classes then ur fine (honors some AP)
