How many accepted EA

Yes, out of the 7000 applicants, does anybody know how many were accepted?

The letter said 2,250 of over 7,000

32% sounds about right. It's usually 31-33% ish.

The letter actually said, and I quote,

"From over 7,000 applicants you have been chosen to join the 2,250 students entering the Class of 2012."

I think many are misreading this sentence, nowhere in the letter does it say how many were accepted EA.

that means that 2,250 students were accepted. they can't know how many are going to enroll yet...

and i looked on college board, and last year like 6,500 applied and about 2,700 were accepted, so they were definitely more selective this year!

Dear beaston105 and ubetteraccept_me : Read the sentence again (this is feeling like an SAT Prep class) :

"From over 7,000 applicants you have been chosen to join the 2,250 students entering the Class of 2012."

The sentence does NOT say that 2,250 offers were made from the EA pool of 7,000.

The sentence does say that 2,250 students will enter the Class of 2012 ... and you were one of the students chosen from the pool of 7,000 EA applications. No information regarding the number of offers made for admission from the EA pool is provided in that sentence.

Remember that a TOTAL of 2,250 students enter each class from ALL pools including EA and RD ... while means 2,250 students accept admission from about 30,000 applications overall (which includes both EA/RD).

Hopefully, I have been pedantic enough here to properly frame the sentence.

"that means that 2,250 students were accepted. they can't know how many are going to enroll yet..."

Well they actually do, in a sense. They can gauge it pretty accurately so that the freshman class is roughly the same size every year, and can use the waitlist to achieve this aim as well.

has anyone else not heard from BC EA yet?

those of you who have heard EA already, where do you live or where do your names fall in the alphabet?! I am freaking out

Nephew in the midwest just heard from BC today! S2 (East Coast) heard on Monday.

i just got my letter today.

yea im pretty sure they mean that the freshman class is going to be aroudn 2250 students. their total student body is just around 9k, so 9/4 = 2.25
