Last year wasn't so great. 1 Yale acceptee (who opted for USC full ride), 1 Cornell, 1 Columbia (who opted for JHU because his brother goes there). As for non-ivies we had 1 go to MIT, and the college-bound portion of the class went, for the most part, to UCs.

About three years ago we had maybe 3 go to Harvard, 2 go to MIT, 1 to Stanford...I think. I don't remember.

I go to a large public school that had a brief stint with year-round which lowered its reputation.

One of I think about 4 within my school district of 68,000 students is from my school -me :)- I think that about 13% of our school district actually go onto college for 4 years.

I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing though.

yeah my schools insane. its a really competitive magnet school in philadelphia. there are only 100 kids per grade and basically everyone whos ranked higher than 60th applies to at least one ivy (usually penn). for example, in EDs and EAs alone, we have 2 harvard, 2 princeton, 1 yale, 2 columbia, 1 stanford, 1 brown, 1 mit and i think around 8 or 9 penn. this doenst include any RDs! Usually we have around 20 or so people going to penn, and a total of around 30-40 going to ivys.

Just two accepted ED this year which was a major difference from last year when we had 6 or 7. Usually between 10 and 15 apply early. Lots more have applied regular, I don't know the exact number. It's a strong RD group. Some of them applied EA or ED to Harvard, Yale, MIT, and were deferred. I'm glad I wasn't up against some of them.

Hah, my school is a joke then. We probably average 1 kid getting into an ivy every year. Last year one person applied ED, a recruited athlete and chose to attend Cornell. This year 3 people in my class are applying Ivy, myself included, and our chances of being admitted are probably very slim, however, we are the top ranked students in the school.

My school - 2 applied ED. 2 deferrals. Historically, Penn doesn't accept many (any) from my school. Once every couple of years someone gets in and goes. I'd go in a heartbeat.

last year, we had only 3 people who applied to Penn regular. All were to Wharton. 2 got in.
this year, 3 applied early. 2 in. Me into Wharton, the other into Huntsman. And I think we have around 8-10 apply regular, and I think a lot more will be accepted this year.
