How many AP classes should you take throughout high school?

Hi, I'm a junior this year, and I'm trying to get into some really competitive colleges. Am I taking the right number of AP classes? My friend is saying that I'm taking too many, but everyone else makes it seem like I'm not taking enough. I actually am interested in most of these subjects (with the exception of Spanish which I already signed up for). What do you think? Please be honest!

Last year -
AP World History (4 on exam)

This year -
AP Biology
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Geopolitical Economics
AP U.S. History (online)
AP Spanish (Language is the only part we are offered to take)

Next year, I hope -
AP U.S. Government
AP Chemistry
AP English Language and Composition
AP Physics
AB Calculus
AP European History
possibly AP Human Geography (I might study by myself and take the exam)

AP whore? Yeah, I think so.

You're doing fine mate. :)

It depends on your school's offerings. Take enough to show that you can handle a rigorious schedule. For example, there are nine at my school, so I took nine. So on and so forth.

AP Geopoltical Economics? Is that micro/macroeconomics?

That's a lot of AP's.

That "whore" thing is so over used.

Ex: greenbean whore, american idol whore, etc.

Take as many as you feel comfortable with. You're doing just fine at this rate.

No, it's not Economics. It is actually a really fancy name for Comparative Government.

I actually talked to a Harvard grad, and he said that colleges weren't looking for a well-rounded student, they were looking for a well-rounded student body. Thank Goodness!

It's not that I'm lazy; I'm just really swamped. 5 APs, Journalism II, Pre-calc H and Physics H along with being Key Club Secretary (hopefully VP next year), NHS member, and newspaper staff columnist. I'm also looking into FBLA or DECA (I'm looking to strecth my economics skills since I want to be an economic journalist). That along with the never-ending college search, my writing, and being a staff member of an online newspaper (just for fun) leaves me dead.
Any who, there's definitely a lot of stress on kids these days.

Thanks for the responses!
