How many AP/Honor Classes should I take to get in a UC(like UCBerkeley)?

I am currently a high school freshman, and it is almost time for us to choose our classes for tenth grade. Can you please tell me if my "sophomore, junior, and senior classes plan" is good enough for a UC? 10th Grade: Bio Honors, Accelerated English 3/4, Spanish Honors 5/6, Pre-Calculus Honors, Speech and Debate, I also plan on taking the AP Chinese Test, and I don't know if I should take AP Euro or Accelerated World History 3/4. I heard that getting an A in an Honors class is better than getting a B in an AP Class.... On the other hand, in 11th grade, I plan on taking AP Bio, AP English Language, Accelerated U.S. History, AP Spanish, and AP Calculus AB. For 12th grade, I plan on taking Physics Honors, AP English Lit. or English 7/8, US Government Honors or AP Economics, AP Calculus BC or AP Statistics. Once again, can you please tell me if the classes I chose are good enough for a UC (esp. Berkeley), and can you please help sort out my classes a bit (which of the "or"s I should take)?

Many Thanks!

It all depends on your course strength vs. your peers.

@Hamilton: Thanks for replying, but is there certain number of AP classes or honors classes, the UC universities would like to see on the high school transcript?

They really on want to see that you took the hardest classes available at your school.

There is no set formula. Take challenging classes that interest you, but also don’t be afraid to take classes that are not AP/honors if they interest you.

Take as many AP/honor classes you can handel. Just don’t over do it and burn yourself out. :)

My son took 14 AP courses in high school.

Last year, he got into UCLA (OOS), but not Berkeley.

In my opinion, 14 did not do him that much good, because he got waitlisted at a lot of schools.

I would say 5 or 6 are sufficient.
