How many AP scores can I send with my college application?

I heard you could only send up to 6 AP or SAT II Subject test scores with the common app, is this true? Because I was thinking about taking 5 or 6 AP tests next year (My junior year, didn't take any up until that point because I didn't care until now), and I know I can get 4's and 5's on them. So, would taking the extra AP's help me? Or should I only worry about 4 of them, since I'll be sending my SAT II Math Level 2 and Chemistry scores?

Just in case it matters, I'm taking the actual class for 2 of them, and self studying the others, but I'm sure I'll do well on them, I've been going through the material and the practice questions are a joke. Do colleges like self-studying?

There is room for 8 Subject tests / AP tests on the common app. You could still report things in an additional info section, however.

Also: taking an AP test just for application purposes really isn’t worth it. (whether it is reported or not)

Anywho, you should be able to fit all 6 AP’s and Math 2 and Chemistry in there. You can see this on the preview version for next year: https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/Docs/DownloadForms/2012/2012-13FY-FinalHighlightedPreview.pdf

There is also this on the side:
