How many AP tests

How many AP tests have you been taken (or will you) by the time you go to college? do you get good scores (above 4)? Do you go to (or plan to go to) a prestigious college?

ill have taken 14. ive passed all four ive taken with a 5. (im a junior right now)
and i plan on tending a prestigious college

I will have taken 9 or 10 by the time I graduate.

AP Calc AB, AP Eng Lit, AP Bio, AP Gov, possibly AP Latin 5, AP Stats, AP Eng Lang, AP Chem, APUSH, and AP Java.

I hope to attend a prestigious college.

I’ve taken 5, taking 7 more this year. I have all 4’s and 5’s, but that will undoubtedly change when I take my two AP Physics tests. Here’s hoping for a 1!
I basically only applied to/have only been admitted to prestigious colleges. So, if I don’t go prestigious, I don’t go at all! Lolrofllulz. (In short: yes.)

^Oh yea, not to be stalker-esque or anything, but congrats on getting into MIT Millancad!

Hoping to get up to 19 by the time I graduate. I have done AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, and AP World History in my sophomore year and received all 5’s. This year, AP European History, AP U.S. History, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP English Language and Composition, and Physics B. I hope to become National AP Scholar. I just plan to go to UC Davis.

I would have taken 21, hopefully I will go to a good college.

I took 10.

Prestigious according to whom? Meaningless numbers thrown around by people who want to feel better about where they’ve graduated from? A ranking system that relegates places of higher education to nothing more than a brand name that people salivate after?

Then no, I do not go to a “prestigious” school. Then no. I turned down much more “prestigious” schools.

^^ I like your thinking about “prestigious” schools.

Anyway, I will have taken 8 AP tests upon graduation, sorry if my number is too low for all of you. I’ve passed every AP test I’ve taken so far with a 4… nothing higher, nothing lower.

^My number is way lower. =/
I’m planning on having four tests done by the time I graduate. Two last year, two this year. And if you ask most people at my school, they’ll probably say it’s a lot, considering three credits of AP (two classes) is the requirement for an honors diploma and I have five (they didn’t offer English as an AP course last year, but most of the class took the exam).

Miserably failed US History. I’m not much of a history person. Got a 4 in the other one.

From my standpoint, some of these numbers are crazy…my school offered 12 possible AP courses for my class (depending on the year) and I’m not AP amazing at math/science, so that cuts it down a lot.

I feel bitter. I guess this site can do that to me sometimes. =P

I will have taken 7, all self-studied… I am an international, and APs aren’t offered here, so quite a lot. I have only applied to pretty selective colleges, hope that works out.

Hmm… I will have 8. I’ve taken 4 of them so far, all 5s.
Prestigious college… meh, I wouldn’t mind going to any of the places I applied to, safeties included. They’re all good enough in my eyes.

18 hopefully =)

^^^ only subjects I’m interested in. I’m crazy, I know

I took two last year and received a 4 and 5. I’m taking 5 this year. 7 total. One of those is self-studied. I didn’t know you could self-study until I found this board, otherwise I would have a lot more. (Thanks guidance counselor…)

Prestigious? I’m hoping for UNC in-state, so not really.

If I could edit my post…

that is what I WILL take. I’m a freshie, so I haven’t taken any yet (will self study Euro). I typed 18, I meant 17 though… I’m self studying 6, supplement study 3 (taking honors classes, since they don’t offer ap’s), and taking 7 ap classes.

I really want to go to Waseda University, one of the top colleges in Japan. I’ve read it’s harder to get into then HYP  for yale, you must be best 1 of 11. For Waseda it’s more like 1 of 20. CRAZY! I’m also interested in Stanford, Yale, Emory, and Carnegie Mellon.

My goal is currently to take 3 APs (all of which I am on track to getting 5s) and then IB. Prestigious, I hope.

I wonder how many threads we have identical to this.

18, 19 APs? that’s a lot! I don’t even think my HS offers that many. I’ll have to find out. If I don’t take many APs, will that damage my chance to get into an Ivy?

By the end of Junior year, hopefully around 9 APs. 5 self-studied.

End of senior year… ehh. I have no idea. Course offering at my school changes every year and this is the only year where they actually offered 5 APs and I will have taken all/self-stuided them by the end of this year. The GC doesn’t think anyone can self-study APs and even pull a 3 since almost every kid in his class got a 1 or 2.

Oh I should add… I took 10 but only 3 AP classes.
