How many applicants does Chicago lose because "it's too cold"?

<p>I don’t know how many they lost, but they sure did gain one (me) because of it.</p>

<p>I love the Fall season, just hate the depths of winter. That said, if UC offered me a PhD place I’d take it in a heartbeat.</p>

<p>Would have lost me, but it did not deter S1, then again I’m old. Let’s see how that works now that he has to drive quite a bit to work everyday.</p>

<p>UofChicago is amazing, ignore the weather.</p>

<p>Yep - Vandy, Duke and UNC CH are on the top of the list that don’t go below 30 degrees (with a few exceptions).</p>

<p>FYI everybody, big storms that will close the school come about more or less every 27 years. The last big one was last year in February (20+ inches of snow). I think you all have some leeway.</p>

<p>But what about storms that freeze the sac even thru jeans?</p>

<p>There’s such a thing as Long Johns of the 21st century. S1’s voice hasn’t changed in the last 4 years.:)</p>
