I know there was a record number of EA applicants this year, but does anybody know how many total apps were received by Georgia this year? I was wondering if maybe there were fewer RD applicants than normal to even out the number.

Also whats the ratio of in state to out of state first year students ? Approximately?

University of Georgia had a 28% increase in applications this year. They received more than 15,700 applications, up from 12,328 last year. Most of the increase was in the early applications. They received 9,000 early apps this year, up from 5,700 last year.

This was published in many GA newspapers about a week ago. I have not seen any comparison of the number in-state to out-of-state students.

Well, obviously stats for 2006 enrollment aren't available yet...but in terms of 2005, close to 80% were GA residents, while a little less than 18% are OOS.

Wowww looks like I won't be getting in because I'm out of state.

Same here bstoroz...same here. It drives me crazy. Plus (not that I'm knocking anyone on here), I have higher stats than quite a few people I've seen have gotten in that are from GA...so the fact that I STILL haven't heard from them just sucks. :(

Oh well, not the end of the world. ;)

I wouldn't throw in the towel. UGA is not UNC--and there's just not as big a demand for OOS slots as other schools.

Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
