<p>I work with people in admissions and they told me that Cornell got over 40,000 applications this year.</p>
<p>If Cornell did receive over 40,000 total applications this year, that would be an increase of at least 2,200 applications and 6% when compared with last year. ED applications soared 16.5% this year.</p>
