How many applications did Michigan receive this year?

I assume over 50,000, but does anybody know the exact number?

I heard over 27,000 for EA alone, so it’d be prudent to assume around 55,000-60,000+ range

Must be over 55000. With all the EA deferal, they have a hard time to catch up the reviewing process,

Will be interesting to see if they over enroll again.

^ Probably not as they will make use of the waitlist this year for real.

A parent asked informally during my campus day session at Michigan while we were standing near an admissions person. He said " I don’t have the exact number but l believe just shy of 60,000."

That would represent a 20% rise in applications, which would be highly unusual. I was expecting 55,000. Perhaps they were including transfer applicants.

@Alexandre‌ It was a very off the cuff kind of answer. The admissions guy was literally getting down from the raised platform where he had been speaking and his answer was when distracted by other people.

As someone working in the admissions office, I have not heard yet a final number. I can confirm the 27,000 EA figure though. One of the admissions executives mentioned it back in November when I was in the room.
