Gyros, i live close to WV, but i actually live in PA. Do you know morgantown? my town is 30 mins away from that.

Yes my bro goes to wvu! He loves it. But I live far from it :(.

MIT is too hardcore for my lazy high school
all anyone ever wants is in state schools

Gyro, i think you have metioned that your high school isn't that competitive? Then we are in the same boat.

two from my school including me. he is a minority and i am an int'l applicant. Talk about unfair chances.

One guy applying EA. At least two other guys applying RD.

Do you guys think a recent history of someone getting into the school is beneficial or not to future applicants in general? (I hope it is ;))

imo the best that could happen is if your school consistently sends many people to MIT, then MIT may be more familiar with your environment and will evaluate you more accurately. Ex. in Stuy, there are many brilliant people that are not on the math team, just because the math team is very selective - but this also serves to distinguish the math team people, many of which get in.

Two (incl. me) doing EA from our school this year--two did EA last year and both got deferred, but one of those got in regular (we had another get in regular, but he did Yale EA)

zero, 3 applying RD

4 including myself, we havent had someone get in in about 4 years i think, hopefully ill change that lol

Just me and my best friend. I sense drama in the near future, hm? But yeah, I go to an all-girls school so almost no one ever applies to MIT. There's actually some sort of stigma at my school against applying to Big Name Schools... no idea why.
