How many applying from your school?

How many kids from your school are applying to Chicago? How many are applying early?

There are at least 4 people from my school, and 3 of them are applying early. I'll most likely be the only one applying in January, even though Chicago is my absolute first choice. I want more time to work on my application. In the past years (maybe decade), we've had only three apply (as far as the counselors remember), so the fact that we have 4 applying in a single year is a record-breaker. People from school think I'm responsible for increasing the application numbers, since my enthusiasm for the University is contagious. Someone applied and got in two years ago, but sadly, she wasn't able to go. She got in a car accident and now has a severe brain injury.

I know about 5 off the top of my hand and we're all involved in the same activities, haha. Oh, well.

None except me. Nobody's even heard of U Chicago at my school. :(

Haha I said "top of my hand."

Even though the top of my hand is pretty smart, I did mean my head.

Earlier this year, no one had even heard of Chicago at my school. Then I started talking about it, and now 5-ish are applying... oh well.

I don't think anyone at my school has even heard of it. I bet less than a dozen apply from my entire state. I heard that usually only about 18 people apply to Harvard from Alaska so it is not exactly like we fill the good schools with students.

im the only one applying EA i think, but i know that all my ivy-hopeful friends are def applying to uchicago regular if they dont get in their top choices early, and they're all like mad, mad smart. so basically, if i get deferred, im screwed

I'm the only one applying EA. Probably like 3 or so more will apply RD.

5 people are applying EA from my school. We're all nerds.

There, I joined, even though I'm more active on Xanga :).

No one from my school has ever been accepted to Chicago, but this year 2 are applying (including me) EA. (84 in my senior class)

Eek! Does it hurt chances if more people from the same school apply?

She has a better GPA by 0.04, but it rounds up, looking like an additional point.

Does that hurt my chances?

I don't think so. Many schools have lots of admits to the same school.

hmm.... a bunch of people came to the meeting when they visited my school, but i am the only one i have heard of... so hopefully. i think everyone who applied last year got in so that is a good sign.

I'm the only one (out of 45)

8 EA out of 175 ish

Last year it was 4 ea and 11rd out of 175 ish so it looks like this year is a big boost for chicago at my school

i think about 5 including me

I'm the only one who's ever heard of U Chicago at my school :D

only on early... a few more later maybe three?

three from my school. sigh, me and one of ther other dudes interviewed on campus and all that jazz. i've shown tremendous interest in the school-so i'm hopppinn'
