how many APs are required??

I am currently a junior

last year (sophomore year),
I took AP statistics and AP World history
I did pretty well on both classes

but this year, I know that i was supposed to take more AP classes than lastyear
But, currently I am only taking
AP calc BC and AP chemistry

I should have taken at least two more AP courses, right?

Will i be still competitive ?
I was so silly..

Admissions wants to see that you are not afraid to challenge yourself - they will look at your particular circumstances, and evaluate you accordingly.

So...there is no "right number" of AP classes to take. WP admissions will look at the AP classes you had available to you, and what you chose to take. They will also look at your grades. Admissions would rather see a few Bs in challenging classes than straight As in less challenging classes.

"Will i be still competitive ?"

Remember that admissions looks at the "whole person" - academics (60% - mainly class rank and SATs/ACTs, but courses and grades factor in too), leadership potential (30% - extracurricular activities and sport), and physical ability (10% - CFA).

Since you (or we) have no idea who you will be competing against or what their credentials will be - the advice is always to make "your" file as strong as you possibly can.
If you have already made your class choices, move on and work on the rest of your package....
Practice for the SATs/ACTS and take them multiple times.
Practice for the CFA and do the very best you can.
Spend time on your essays, let West Point Admissions and your nomination sources know how motivated you are to attend, and to succeed.
Take on leadership positions.

Good luck!

As a junior....practice for the PSATs and do the very best you can. They are a big factor in getting accepted to SLS.
