How many APs are you taking total?

So I'm curious...how many APs are you guys taking/have you taken total throughout high school?

5 junior year (Psychology, Calc AB, Lang and Comp, USH, Physics). 5 again senior year (French, Calc BC, Lit, Gov, Chem).

23

2 soph, 10 jr. 11 snr

10 of these are self-study.

eh..you beat me by 1

22

1 soph, 10 jr, 11 snr.

9 of these are self studies

PKswmr76, swim4life - that is insane! I wish I had your working ethics/studying habits. I would kill myself if I had to take that many tests!

wow...

i'm only taking 17 in total

3 sophomore year, 7 junior year, 7 senior year..

damn, and I thought I was taking a lot.

eh, I'm only taking 14-15, depending on how many I self-study.

23 APs where I live would cost over $2000! I'm taking 7-9, no self-study planned, but I haven't ruled it out completely.

Approximately 1,337.

"23 APs where I live would cost over $2000! I'm taking 7-9, no self-study planned, but I haven't ruled it out completely."

-yeah...I was kidding lol

I'm only taking 15 in total...2, 6, 7

I think my school is paying for some of it.

Ugh, you're so lucky! I have to pay 83 dollars for every one of them, out of my own pockets too. There goes another four hundred something dollars down the drain this year, though I'm still trying to decide if I should take the tests. Paying for them on my own does give me an incentive to do better though.

But seriously, those of you taking that many, how do you find time to do other things? So many APs cover such a huge range of material, and why are you doing that to yourself? Is it actually fun? I really can't imagine, lol.

Question: What are the benefits of self-study? And as a senior?

I'm taking 3 with my school. [xD Seems low for this thread, but with how my school system works it's not. ^^]

"Question: What are the benefits of self-study? And as a senior?"

-I want to challenge myself and learn things I'm interested in. I also want enough AP credit to bypass some introductory level courses and some college requirements or w/e. I'm only self-studying about 3 AP's in total. My school offers a lot and it's quite common for students to take 5-6 AP's a year.

Hahaha I'm so out of place
2 for junior year, and 2 for senior year
At my school , you're advised to take no more than 4 a year (unless special circumstances) and only 2 the first time you take them...
wow....22?

Please tell me you guys don't ahve athletics...I wouldn't believe you ever got sleep. But major MAJOR Kudos.

seems like 10 or more is the norm lol poor us greensticky ;-)

haha, angelt & greensticky, i totally am the same way :) i'll probably end up having taken 3 or 4 total.

I'm taking 9.

1 for Freshman year, 1 for Soph, 3 for Junior, and 4 for Senior.

"Please tell me you guys don't have athletics...I wouldn't believe you ever got sleep. But major MAJOR Kudos."

-Lol yeah I'm a varsity swimmer. I'm in marching band too as well as a ton of different science related activities. It's not too bad actually. I do most of my homework in school whenever I can (It's mostly busywork anyway).

My school offers 13 or 14 APs. Is that a lot or a little? Can I say 7-9 APs is a fairly rigorous load for jr and sr year combined?

So many questions!

Seems like most of your schools make AP's the same as honors
I am taking 4 JUNIOR YEAR AND 4 SENIOR.
Thats the max at my school

1 Freshman, 1 Sophomore, 4 Junior, 5-6 Senior. So 11-12 total.
