9 APs, 11 tests

3 AP's last year (4,4, and 5 on the tests)
4 AP's this year (will be taking 4 tests)

Accepted ED

my god how do you people take so many APs? you must have gone to very easy public schools. my private school is so hard and limited that it is a brave feat to take just 2 APs in the same year.

dominus - same here, at my school the most you can take is 4 in one year and thats basically a death wish. it kind of freaks me out how many APs people here have taken, but everyone's school is different.

RD applicant with 9 AP's (AP Scholar with Distinction), plus two college courses
Yes, I have no life!

I'll have 12.

1 soph (5)
4 junior (all 5's, and a 3 in chem terrible teacher)
7 this year.

Idk about the no life comment. Ive caused my share of trouble the past couple of years.

RD applicant

2 APs junior year (took classes for both; got 4's on both)
2 AP classes, 3 AP tests this year (I'm in regular German IV, but am taking the AP test)

I didn't take any. (Although, to be fair, I'm a home-schooled student who designed my own advanced courses and I did take a lot of honors courses and College classes as well.)

Oh, forgot to say, Accepted.

14 (including this yr) and I am a RD applicant for this yr.....I really hope I have a shot. APs do not mean much, they want to see you challenge yourself, but I think they only play a small role in admissions (assuming u still challanged urself and did not take the minimum)

I know that schools don't just look at APs in order to grant admission. I guess I was really just wondering what the average number of APs taken was, but after seeing this, Ive realized that whether or not I've taken 3 or 55 APs doesn't matter. I'd heard that Brown had crazy admission so I guess I was just trying to figure out a way to stand out. That crazy Brown. They've got me all discombobulated.

When a student takes 10 APs and gets 5s on all/most of them, it shows the student covered the required information and was sufficiently prepared. Not sure why dominus96 thinks the HS is easy. Wouldn't the student do poorly on the AP exams then?

I took 4 last year and I am taking 6 this year.

I don't think the number of AP's taken has anything to do with your high school--you are taking and (hopefully) passing the tests, not your school/teachers.

I know at my school, since we have a block schedule, it's nearly impossible to take more than 4 AP classes a year, with exceptions. All of that information is on the school profile, including how many AP's your school offers so there cannot be any bias (if your school offered one AP, you wouldn't be penalized, etc.)

I cannot wait until March 31st!!!!
