I'm looking to get into NYU Stern, Michigan Ross, and Carnegie Mellon as my top 3. I've already taken 3 this year (American History, Physics C Mechanics and Music Theory), how many should I take next year? If it makes any difference my school is ranked around 50 on US News in the country, so the rigor is there.

Take as many as you can.

^ I agree with the above statement since at the end of the day, if you cant make the time to get a B+ or higher in your classes along with your EC’s, i think it would be best to stick to 3-4 a year.

Besides, assuming that you are not a junior, you will have more than enough proof by application time that you have a rigorous course load by the amount of AP classes.

If you are a junior, then you should find a way to take more AP courses and do well in them if your school provides a lot of AP classes to show that you have a rigorous course load.
