Who are all nervous for the AP scores? Curious why?

People say AP scores don't matter as much but still EVERYONE is so much focussed on that magic number 5..

Assuming one has a straight 4.0 in Junior year with all AP classes in a competitive set up, why should he/she be concerned about the 5's if that is the case?

Why are AP exams and scores getting so stressful despite the fact that its not so much used during admissions..

UK applicants - its different since the AP grade determines the admission.

I’m nervous to hear my scores (I say “hear” because I will undoubtedly be calling early) for a myriad of reasons. First and foremost, I don’t think I did that will on most of my exams this year. I am not alone in feeling that the College Board made some of this year’s exams more difficult, especially Physics C and Chemistry, both of which I took. Second, I’m apprehensive about how the change in the policies regarding the elimination of point deductions for incorrect MC answers will impact the curves. I really don’t think I guessed correctly on the vast majority of the MC questions I ended up guessing on. I am not a great guesser on tests like these.

I guess the main reason that I’m worried about my scores is that I tend to stress the importance of them. I realize that they aren’t significantly important in the long run, but for some reason I think of them as a measure of my worth or intelligence. Lol. Corny, no?

AP English-i messed up on MC by spending too much time on first two passages, i answered 25 questions and christmas treed the rest, and i think i did ok on the FRQ. I was really hoping for a 4 but i think i blew it

AP scores really do matter if you ain’t going to IVY league.

I get to skip most of the introductory courses and skip the first year entirely. This saves me a tons of money, and money is a huge issue for my family. So yeah. I also can double major in something really easily or graduate in 3 years.

Haha, I’m not nervous at all.

I’ll be nervous come June 28 or 29.

im concerned about either a 4/5 on stat and a 3/4 on microecon. the rest dont really matter because im confident i got 4/5 and a 5 isnt extra credits for those courses in most schools im interested in.

Anyone else really concerned for Chemistry? I thought that the FRQs were insanely hard. I just hope I got at least a 4, since that’s what I need.

I’m nervous for AP Human. It was my first AP. I feel like I did well on the MC. Might have skipped like 10 problems though so I’m not sure. The FRQs were super easy though. I can’t wait for July. Maybe I’ll call in to get it early.

I’m pretty nervous cuz I think i got a 5, but theres a chance I get 4 because Im not sure how many MC i got wrong, defintiely more than 5, and I made a kind of major mistake on FRQ

bc calc im sorta nervous, cuz i want a 5 soooo badly.

i studied hard to try to skip out of bc on my own… if i dont get a 5 ill be pretty disappointed.

Lol if this many people want 5’s I don’t see how everyone will get one. Or maybe the CC people are just high achievers. Or maybe CollegeBoard makes Aps too easy…

Interesting replies. But my point is if they dont matter so much in the admissions, “why” be so nervous but still most of them are…

pi, why June 28 and 29? as the general feeling is that they dont really impact the admissions

I feel the scores do matter during admissions though we somehow feel otherwise

by the way, how can we add a quoted post to a message? The quote message feature does not seem to do so…

You’re forgetting the fact that the AP test score determines whehter you get college credit or not. Nobody wants to take those 1st year courses. Thats mainly why they’re nervous

I don’t really understand what you mean, I thought that AP scores were considered in college admissions, and since I really want to get into Cornell that would be important.

Not at all, I got 5s no prob

Sent from my Droid using CC App

'Cause that’s when the majority of CC’s AP students start to freak out. AP scores are in the back of my mind until the few days leading up to July 1st.

ivy league schools are much more stringent than other schools on ap credit.

edit: how do we quote again?

I’m not nervous but I am anxious. I put a lot of work into studying and it would be a big personal achievement for me to get a 5 on my WH exam. It’s my first AP, all of my practice exams put me right on the edge of a 5. I feel really good about the MC but I don’t think I did well enough on the essays. I’m positive that I got a 4 and that’s good enough to get credit at any college I’m considering so it’s ok (I would be sooooo happy with a 5 though).

You guys all need to take a chill pill
