I just found out I got an 88.8% in my Astronomy summer class and I'm pretty bummed about it. It kind of sucks knowing now that I can't get a clean 4.0 now. Plus this was the 1st of 2 classes I've taken at my community college (Santa Monica College)

But how many B's can one have and still be a competitive candidate for UCLA / UC Berkeley?

CCers have ridiculous standards for academics. Anything below 3.5 will be seen as mediocre, and below 3.0 will put you right into the “■■■■■■” category. You can thank the overwhelming Asian populace in this place =/

Hahahaha. Not true at all necessarily. I got a 1.6 GPA in my last semester at high school which was only a few months ago (and I got a .83 GPA my sophomore year.)

I was just sick of being academically incompetent and grew some balls to do the work.

talk to your prof… see if you can get the grade changed to an A by doing something… or something…

if you tell him that it’s the only B on your transcript, and you really were only 1.2% away from an A, i’ll bet you’ve got a 50/50 shot at getting it changed.

i once had a B changed to an A 3 months after the fact.

I got 3 Bs. One in chem , one is some crazy psych(o) class, and one in some crazy religion class. That’s 11 units worth of Bs and it’s killing my GPA. But on the bright side, I learned the technique of arguing for my A and my inferior complex towards 4.0 students just makes me all the more aggressive. oh right after that term, I got mad and got a 4.0 in the spring and summer. woot. so Bs can be good… kinda…
