How many b's?

i know... go canada.

lucky?..our school shows percentages..!!! so yea..they'll see the 80's. =(

it's okay. a lot of people have 80s. it's nothing bad.

well, I got a B+ in my world history class, and my teacher said, Harvard doesn't want to see a B. But there were bunch of people who got more than 5 Bs and still get in.

Totally bs i'm telling you.

You gyus don't get it yet. Less than a fourth of the class gets in on acedemics alone. And those are the top students at exeter, ect. If your school doesn't routinly send x number of kids every year, athletics or EC's alone will get you in. They dont care if you have perfect grades as long as you are top 10%, 1400+ and are amazing at something (I'm talking one of the bast in the nation at soccer, or oboe, or singing, or family wealth -- yes it does matter) And before anyone calls me a troll, I'm not a troll, im just a bitter deferree.

Perfect 4.0 GPA. Best SAT's in the school in the last 15 years (1560). 3 Sport Varsity Athlete, clubs out the wazoo, all kinds of leadership positions = deferee. One B isnt going to make a difference. Now maybe one more goal during soccer season would have.

ya but you have to have the grades just to be considered

everybody has weaknesses. they know that.

are downard trends most likely a rejection? i just got my report back, and from the looks of it i got 3 B+'s this semester. so

freshman - 0
sophomore - 2
1st half junior - 3

i have lots of good ec's (nat'l piano), lots of internships, and other stuff. do i still have a chance?

this thread is a waste of time. there is no "B cutoff"!!! They will evaluate your application as a whole. Some people with stronger athletic/musical skills etc will probably be able to have more Bs than someone who doesn't do as many ecs.

i really think the As Bs are very stupid. different school have totally different grading systems.. even different teachers in the school for the same course might have diff systems, like mine... soooo, if i were the officers, iwould rely on sat 2s and AP or IB scores to distuingish the grades.. and class rank of course...

****. I really, really hope that you don't have to be nationally ranked in one thing or another to get into Harvard. I'm getting the idea that you have to be a demi-god to get in.

demi-gods? lol i'm pretty sure harvard accepts a couple of normal people to diversify everything.

and a downward trend isn't necessarily a red flag. it could just mean you're taking harder classes.

Normal people have gotten in. Trust me; I've talked to them. Heck, I AM one of them.

So you meant you got in????????
