How many can one get wrong in each section to get that magic 2400?

Hey guys! Help me out...!!!
CR- # wrong
M- # wrong
WR - # wrong + essay score

:D

It changes every test...

Then estimates??
Like, worst case scenario.!

I didn't get a 2400, but here are my stats from the college board for the October 2007 test. I answered every single question

Critical Reading 770, 4 wrong out of 67
Math 780, 1 wrong out of 54
Writing 790
-Essay 11
-Multiple Choice 77, 2 wrong out of 49

I know it varies for each test, but hopefully this will give you an estimate.

-2 or -3 CR = 800
-0 Math = 800
-0/10 W/Essay= 800, -3/12 (approximately) =800, sometimes -0/9=800

these are usually the absolute WORST you can do and still get a 2400

amb3r is correct

the math curve is harsh. u have to get every single question correct

verbal is curved more generously usually a loss of 2-3 raw score points will still get u an 800

writing: my essay of 10 and 2 incorrect on the mc got me a 790...so....

You can get one wrong on the math and still get an 800. It just doesn't happen that often.

lol i dont think missing 2 or 3 on cr gets u an 800...i missed only 4 and got a 750

i think if ur lucky u can miss 1 or maybe 2? and get an 800 on it

Missed 2 on CR, got an 800. You can check the scales in the Blue book.

FredFred is right. Two wrong on CR is an 800. Two wrong and a omit was 780. Amb3r's also right about the writing. Get an 80 on the MC, and you can usually get as low as a 9 on the essay and still get an 800.

There is maybe one SAT a year when the math curve lets you miss one and still get an 800. Generally, though, one can't miss any.

The curve always varies slightly, but these are pretty consistent figures that the other posters are giving you...

It's possible, but as people have said, it doesn't happen very often because of the math curve...

i got 1 wrong on CR, and 1 wrong on writing w/ 12 on the essay, 0 wrong on math

math: generally you'd need 0 wrong. writing i know you can get away with an 80/9.

That's correct according to some previously released tests.

what wud 2 wrong in math and 7 omit be ?

They try to scale it to the difficulty of the test, which I think they do a good job of. On average though, I'd say don't miss any math, and try not to miss more than 2 in Verbal/Writing for the 2400. Of course, getting a 2400 doesn't matter much.
