This school has trimesters instead of semesters. On their academic calendar it says that there are four terms. They also have what is called a Maymester. What are the maximum amount of classes I could take from August to Summer Session I?
Hello! If you’re looking at the academic calendar on the website, you may see some different terms because of the School of Continuing Education, but in the main undergraduate day school, we have two semesters per academic year. In these two semesters, students take five courses each semester and have the opportunity to take a sixth included in tuition.
The Maymester you reference is a program offered by departments that involve study on-campus for a few weeks and then an international immersion experience related to the content you studied earlier. A handful of students participate each year, but it isn’t by any means an actual semester in the College’s operation.
For the two summer sessions (Summer I and Summer II) offered by Continuing Education, there is a list of approved courses that will transfer to the undergraduate day school, but there is no expectation that students take these courses. Some do it to lighten their course load during the regular semesters or for make-up work.
