I've heard from people who are at orientation that the counselors suggest taking only 3 classes per quater but quite a few people are trying or wanting to take 4?
I was planning on Writing I, Chem, and Math 31 (32 if i recieved a 5 on AP). I would like to take Chinese 1 as well but if 4 classes is too many it can wait until next quater.

first quarter most people take 3. later on it’s pretty split between 3 and 4

i know someone who takes like 5. Some people work better when they’re constantly under pressure so it depends. I’d personally start off with 3 though just until you get the hang of things. Then move onto 4, and then maybe 5 if you’re hardcore.

most = 3-4
I know someone who took 6 classes last quarter - he had like 26 units or something - got 2 or 3 b’s and 3 or 4 a’s.

if you do something like that, you’ll typically be taking a class or two P/NP

So I’m thinking about taking math 31, writing I and either biology or chemistry.
1)Would Chinese 1 be a good alternate?
2)Since I’m a chem major I’m thinking of listing physics as 2nd alternate.
Would you reccomend taking bio and getting it out of the way or start with my phys and chem right away?

My worst quarter so far was when I only took 3.

As I wrote on another thread:

There’s probably a reason why the OCs want you to take 3 classes. It’s not as if they just put a bunch of numbers into a hat and randomly pulled out “3”.
