Opinions please. We are ignorant oos.
My daughter will be choosing her schedule in the next week or so. She goes to Orientation on the ninth of June.
She will be getting credit for core Math, english Comp, Sociology, Fine Arts, and maybe Statistics. She will test out of some, and is taking two UCLA classes. She can get credit for what she tests out of I am told.
How many classes do most freshmen take? I know 15 credits is needed to average. Should she take four classes for an easier transition, or should she try to get more out of the way.
She is in Communication. She will take intro RTF class, Frosh signature course, and then other core requirements.

Any suggested core classes that should be taken as a Frosh?
How many?

12-15 hours is normal for a freshman. If you have no AP credit, it takes 15 hours per semester to graduate in 4 years without summer school. If you do have AP, that’s going to lower the number of hours per semester you need. A lot of kids also do summer school, which lowers the number of long session hours even further.

But if your daughter has gone to a good high school and taken AP Classes than 15 hours won’t be very hard. There will be academic advisors to talk about this during orientation–she won’t be completely on her own.

Not necessarily. They plenty of social life and wouldn’t change a thing. Of course their electives are fun and are taken with their friends so it’s all good.
