All right, I am a guy, and I am going to college out-of-state next year. I plan on bringing 20 t-shirts, and 3 cargo shorts and some jeans. How many jeans should I bring? Whats the average number of jeans a guy in college has? How many times can I wear these jeans before I wash them? How often do most kids in college do laundry? My college is up-north, so I probably won't be able to wear my cargo shorts that much in the winter.

I am going to a top 25 university(I don't know if this is important or not).....

Way to contribute to the topic. Shouldn’t you be busy buying “rich people clothes”?

I’m personally bringing 15ish tee shirts, 3-4 polos, 2 button down shirts, 3 pairs of shorts, 2 jeans, a pair of dickies, a pair of sweat pants, 4x athletic shorts, and some various other items.

"You wear the same jeans more than once without washing them? "

I do. I wear them twice and then wash them. To me, there’s no point in washing jeans after everytime you wear them. Everything else, on the other hand, should be washed after one wear.

Yeah I cant imagine how much money Id waste if i did laundry more than once a week, which is what you would have to do if you washed after only wearing a pair of jeans once.

At school doing one load of laundry is about $1.50 at my dorm, so I prefer to not waste too much cash and wear my clothing twice before I wash it. Keeping in mind that I keep my clothing smelling good and don’t get them dirty.

If anything jeans can be worn a ton before having to wash them, but then again it all depends on how clean you are and if like some people, you tend to use your jeans as a napkin.

I don’t care, and no, it’s not. And seriously, it’s only twice. I know plenty of people who do that. I remember telling someone I washed my jeans after each time I wore them, and I just got blank stares and screams of “but that’s ridiculous”. And you know what? They were right.

I think you do care. You also care about dionte’s posts or else you wouldn’t keep getting defensive.
It’s my opinion that I agree with Plattsburgh. It’s gross. Why you care if I think it’s gross is beyond me.

No, its not. If my jeans aren’t dirty, I don’t see why I can’t wear them for two days. It’s different for shirts, since people actually sweat on their upper body a lot, but generally, jeans don’t get dirty as easily and I don’t like it when some of my really dark jeans that were really expensive fade, so I am less inclined to wash it so often.

A) What does he/she have to do with this?
B) I never said you couldn’t have your opinion. I’m also entitled to say whether or not I agree with it as well.

And, really, that’s not on topic. At all. Moving on to the OP…

I think that you should pack only the clothes that you know you wear. Even if there’s a “maybe” in there, I wouldn’t take it, especially if you have limited room.
