How many clothes should I bring?

I wash my jeans after wearing them once. But I do know a lot of people who wear them twice before washing.

It really depends on what you’re doing when you’re wearing them.

I think Brown’s points were:

A) You’re weirdly defensive (as you were in the last clothes-related thread)
B) That’s it.

"Those are my points, except bold “weirdly” next time. Maybe underline it too. "

I’m asking you nicely to drop it. You’re dragging the entire thread off-topic.

Dont worry, Preppy09, you’ll fit in very well at BU. God am I glad I left that school…

Are there a lot of weird people at BU?

Much better.
(How do you underline, by the way?)

I think it’s over now. He/she doesn’t wash his jeans after every wear, you guys do. I don’t think it needs to be spoken about anymore.

the only reason i am asking is because I don’t know how many jeans to buy?

how many jeans should a guy thats going to college have?

One of my friends at Duke(his parents make 500k a year), says he only brought 4 jeans to duke, 20 t-shirts, and 3 shorts…and he told me he did laundry 2 times a month…

***? i wear mine 3-4 times before i wash them. i never realized that people were wasteful enough to wash their jeans everyday (since it’s superhard washing jeans because of the nature of the fabric). then again, all of my jeans are faded wash, so you can’t really tell when they get dirty…

You have a month before college. Pay attention to what you’re wearing now and multiply that for the year.

(I asked the OP a question, prepster dragged it out. )

BU =/= Brown, right?

Okay, my question is how many jeans should a guy bring to college?

I would say you need about 4-5 pairs of jeans, thats all I need. Of course if you go to school down south in warmer weather, 2-3.

Yes. Too many.

Boston University

^^^ so you wear your jeans more than one before washing them right?

How many jeans do you have at home? How long do they tend to last you? It’s not like it’s going to be different at college.

I’m bringing everything I have. Something like 12 polo shirts, 3 tee-shirts, 6 button downs (they’re not super-nice, just regular ones), 4 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of shorts (Texas here, lots of shorts weather). Probably 8 pairs of boxer shorts and socks, although I wear flip flops most of the time, but I still need socks for sports and gym activities. My one pair of regular athletic shoes, 3 pairs of flips flops, one pair of shower flip flops. And 1 nice suit/jacket/shoes for any sort of formal party/interview/etc.

I also did my laundry daily at home, where I washed whatever I wore the day before along with my bath towels. At college of course that is not reasonable to do, so it will probably be twice a week or weekly for laundry, depending on how convenient the facilities end up being.

WantsBrown: I’m pretty sure it generally refers to Boston University, which has always confused me because around where I live BU has always meant Binghamton University. But generally on CC, BU=Boston University. I think?

“Okay, my question is how many jeans should a guy bring to college?”

Like Vigilent24, I think 4-5 is a good number. However, you should take into consideration the wash of your jeans. You should have a light wash for casual affairs and a darker wash for slightly dresser (although not formal) occasions.

Well the thing is, my mom gave away most of my clothes to charity, and she wants to buy only new clothes for college(since I had them for 2 years)…I don’t remember how many jeans I used to have…

If I bring 4-5 jeans that means, that I will probably have wear them more than once before I do laundry(if I plan on doing laundry once a week?)…
