If it's not too personal, how many admits, how many rejections? I assume this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything on it.

6 apps. 2 safeties, 2 match, 2 super-reach. Visited 5 of the 6 schools and he would have been very happy to attend all of them.

Accepted to 2 safeties with substantial merit aid, accepted to 2 matches with no merit, waitlisted and then rejected at both super-reaches.

I'm transferring now, but when I was in HS:

4 Reaches (Ivies-Rejected by all)
4 Safeties (3State School Honors Programs and one Private School Honors Program-Accepted by all)

Should have cast my net wider!

9 apps
f acceptances and 1 rejection, 3 waitlist

15 applications, counting the UC application as 1. The usual number at S's private HS is 10-12, but he had 6 super reaches (including HYPSM) and GC said that his list should be divided almost equally among reach, match and safety schools. Since S did not want to give up any of his reaches, he was willing to do the extra work to send out more apps and maintain a balanced list. Result: reaches 0%, match and safety 100%.

11
8 acceptances
3 waitlists

i applied to many reaches after getting into a safety early with a good scholarship

14 apps, with 13 acceptances, 1 waitlist (Duke), 1 acceptance with merit to the college (Texas Tech Honors) but rejection to the BS/Md program (8 slots). Why so many? We were trying to find the intersection between Great Merit Aid Avenue and D3 Basketball Road (9), then threw in 3 super reaches (Yale, Amherst, Duke) and Colgate hoping for a drunk sailor financial aid verdict.

If I were to counsel her now I would suggest she drop maybe two of the merit-safeties, and add two more in the top twenty merit -Emory/WashU/Rice/Chicago/Vandy - category.

DS applied to 8 total, was accepted by all.

9 altogether, counting UC app as one.
1 safety, 2 matches, 8 slight reaches/reaches
accepted to safety, both matches, and three reaches.

D sent out 9 apps (counting UCs as one).

Out of her 6 reaches, she was accepted by 3, waitlisted by 2 and rejected by one.

accepted at all UCs (including her safety, match and reach UCs) and her two matches.

7: 3 Reaches (HYS, all rejected), 3 Matches (all accepted), 1 Safety (accepted).

2 applied.

I got the acceptance to the first one (my first choice) just after I sent in my second application, so I just emailed them and cancelled my application.

14 application...
2 acceptances, 4 waitlist, 8 rejections
1 acceptance off the waitlist.

I am an international

For my daughter: Apps to 12 colleges:

3 in-state university (one application for all): 2 safeties/ reach - admitted all 3
1 out of state university: safety - admitted
8 private colleges -- including 4 reaches (rejected at Ivy, accepted to other reaches)
2 matches - waitlisted at both
2 safeties - admitted with merit aid

Net result: 12 apps, 9 acceptances

5 applications.
All 5 accepted.

7 applications, including 3 Ivies and Oxford

6 acceptances and 1 rejection (Oxford)

12 applications, including one to the State University and ten privates.

Six acceptances and six rejections(one of which was a waitlist that never materialized).

for my S last year, 7 apps

3 acceptances (1 rolling dec. safety and 2 match/reach)
1 waitlist (reach)
3 rejections (reach)

all of the schools were matches statistically, but reaches based on their low acceptance rates.

My Daughter 7 applications
Accepted at all 7 schools

My daughter submitted 9 applications (3 reach, 4 match, 2 safety). She was accepted to 7, waitlisted at 2, and had some really great merit aid offers.
