How many college recommendation letters should i get from one teacher?

Hmm... i was wondering if its a little too rude to ask a teacher to do 3 or more college recommendation letters. What are your thoughts about it?

Oh definetley don’t ask them to fill out more than 3 different forms, but obviously if you have 10 schools which are all common app that’s just filling out one form so its ok.

schools will let the teacher attach a rec they did for a different school, so for the most part all they really have to do is photocopy and sign. If you are doing paper forms that aren’t common app, you can fill out all the basic information to make the teacher’s job easier.

I see no problem with asking a teacher for multiple recommendations. Most teachers anticipate students asking them for recommendations, and they have templates that they use. You, the student, need to make sure you make the process as easy as possible for them. Provide your teacher with stationary, names, addresses, envelopes, and any other items that would make the process easier.

What should i provide them with. Like some of my achievements?

a brief resume is helpful.

like a list of my achievements?

Their LOR isn’t a recap of your ECs – it should portray what he/she knows about you.

Here’s what MIT asks of teacher recs. It gives you a good idea of how youwant your LOR to read and the depth, therein

Thanks! That’s helpful.
