How many colleges are TOO many to apply to?

well masha i dont really know what to say, i guess 20 college options its too many, and what i think you sould do its to search more about each university that you are intrested in and the one that adjust better to your plan careers, and then start eliminating your options, until you get 5 or so in your list... that what i think you should do

i think more than 10 is way too many! you should apply to about 3-5

hahaha. Wow. I started this thread two years ago and it's STILL getting responses!!!

I'm shocked!

Well, for those of you who are still responding to the thread, I ended up applying to 14 schools and getting into all but one (UCLA). I'm now at my top choice school (Cal!) and I couldn't be happier. Good luck to all the rising seniors (if you're on this board you're obviously very stressed out and overthink college admissions) and goodluck to all those who have just recently accepted their college admission offers!!

:)

congrats masha.
my school only allow us to apply 6 schools max lol

At our competitive public high school, everyone "has" to apply to six as a minimum - at least this is what the guidance counsellors strongly urge the students and parents, and not just the top students, but all students interested in college: you apply to two reaches, two matches, and two safeties.

I like this thread. You can read it every 3 or 4 months. It is entertaining.
