<p>9 total...About 4 reaches (1 ED), 2 matches, and 3 safeties...but I am applying for engineering, so outside of my ED school the other 8 are on pretty equal footing in my eyes. I'm just ranking them as matches/reaches/safeties based on how hard I think they'll be for me to get in.</p>

<p>Yea, I know -- there is a pretty good chance I might not be going to college this Fall. In that case, my plan is to return to Guatemala for at least 6 months. I plan to major in Latin American Studies & Spanish anyway so this way I'll just be getting more exposure. Plus I have a little organization that helps Guatemalan children and I will be able to devote a lot of time to it. Last but not least -- during my gap year I will study my bum off for the SATs and come back to the U.S. and re-apply to every college that rejected me. If the same thing happens again, I will return to Guatemala and do the whole process again!</p>
